Celebrate Fourth of July in Teaneck
Teaneck’s Fourth of July celebration will contain many activities such as face painting, music, dancing, parades, pony rides and more to enjoy a day outside celebrating the holiday.
On July 3 from 7:30 to 9 p.m., the Recreation Department offers a free concert featuring the group "Smooth" at the Votee Park band shell. This band takes listeners through a re-creation of the sounds of "The Temptations," "The Four Tops," "the Chi-Lites," "The Spinners" and more. Residents are encouraged to come early with their blankets and beach chairs to enjoy activities in the park during the afternoon and early evening and, perhaps, to enjoy a picnic lunch or dinner.
July 4 begins with Teaneck's annual Fourth of July parade featuring representatives of local government and local organizations. Parade participants assemble at 9:30 a.m. near Queens Court (located near CVS). The parade begins at 10 a.m., travels north on Queen Anne Road and ends in Votee Park.
The parade is followed by a day of festivities and family activities in Votee Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. including pony rides, face painting, clowns, storytelling, jugglers, pop-a-shot basketball and football, tattoo artist, stilt walker, balloon typhoon, trackless train rides, kiddy striker, moonwalk and a visit from the Teaneck Fire Department which opens the fire hoses to "cool the crowd down."
